Celebrating 100 Followers: Becky’s Springtime Photography Contest

Hello! Welcome back to Books and Hooks! A little while ago, I reached 100 followers! Thank you so much everyone!! I was trying to think of a good post to do to celebrate, and I finally decided on a photography contest! Thanks to The Pastel Bicycle who suggested I create a new tag, which gave me this idea!

Because spring is here, it is going to be spring-themed!

Rules

  1. Choose one photo that you took in 2022 that makes you think of spring! (animals, nature, flowers, etc.)
  2. Make sure the photo is appropriate. Any photos that I don’t think align with this, I won’t include in the final judging and post
  3. Write a blog post including the photo you chose, and the rules, as well as a link to this original post
  4. Tag it ‘beckysphotographycontest’ so I can see all of your posts
  5. Comment on the original post when you’ve published your blog post, so I can see it
  6. The deadline is May 20th
  7. The photos will be judged and I’ll announce the winners on May 31st
  8. All of the photos that were entered will be included in the post, along with links to everyone’s blogs who have participated

Any blogger can enter this photography contest if they want to! If you have any questions, just comment down below! I can’t wait to see everyone’s pictures!! Thanks again for 100 followers!! 🥰 Ya’ll are the best! See you next week, probably with a fun book review!!

10 Minute Crochet Easter Bunny Keychains

Hello everyone!! Sorry I haven’t posted for a while; I’ve been pretty busy with getting ready for Easter, doing soccer, and school. I’ve decided to just post once a week for now, at least for a while, instead of twice a week. I’m going to choose Monday to be my posting day, but I’m just adding a quick little post here because I wanted to have it out before Easter (which is this Sunday…I can’t believe it!)

Today I’m sharing a pattern that I came up with a little while ago: Easter bunny keychains!! Let’s just get right into it!

────── ♡ ──────

Materials

  • Worsted weight (#4) yarn
  • 3.75 mm crochet hook (any size really works, but if you use a bigger hook, you’ll have a bigger bunny)
  • Darning needle
  • Key chain

Notes

  • The chains at the beginning of the rounds do not count as stitches
  • You should know some basic stitches for this pattern
  • The numbers between the parentheses at the end of the row are the number of stitches you should have

Abbreviations and stitches

  • St – stitch
  • Sl st – slip stitch
  • Dc – double crochet
  • Mc – magic circle
  • Ch – chain

Instructions

Make a mc, and ch 2.
Do 10 dc into the circle. Sl st to the first dc to join. (10)
Ch 2. Work 3 dc in each of the next 3 sts. Turn. (3)
Now, we’re going to make the ears! Ch 5, sl st into the first st. Sl st into each of the next 2 sts. Ch 5, sl st into the same st you just did.
Fasten off!
Using a darning needle, get the yarn you just fastened off, and bring it back to the center st. Attach the keychain.
Weave in the ends, and you’re done!! These really do just take about ten minutes, and are very simple if you know basic crochet stitches! You also don’t have to attach a keychain, and just have a little bunny! I also made a little one with crochet thread and attached it to earrings, and it was super cute as well! Just let your creativity flow!

I was also wondering if anyone would be interested in a blog post where I give step-by-step instructions with pictures on how to make different crochet stitches for beginners? If so, please comment!

That’s all for today’s post! Do you like to crochet? Are you making any crochet patterns for Easter? Would you like to try this one out? I’d love to chat in the comments!!

Thanks for reading, have an amazing day, and I’ll try to post something on Monday!!

Thank You For 100 Followers! 💖

Hello, happy weekend! Today’s post is a short one, but important nonetheless! I just wanted to thank everyone for following: I have 100 followers now! One of my goals for 2022 was to get 100 blog followers, but I never thought that it would happen as soon as April! Thank you sooooo much, guys! 🥰

I’m wanting to do a celebratory post, but I don’t really have an idea as to what to do. When I got 50 followers, I did a Q&A, so I’m not really wanting to do that again. Maybe assumptions about me? Or would you rather? If you have any other ideas, I’d love to hear them down below!

Thank you again for 100 followers!! 😃 I hope you have an amazing rest of your weekend, and I’ll see ya’ll on Wednesday! Bye!
